Abandoned Stills

Here's the plot of the movie: Mary Walsh delivers boyfriend Kevin to a hospital for routine outpatient surgery. But when Mary returns to take him home, he's mysteriously vanished. An administrator can find no record of him, and a police search turns up nothing. Increasingly frantic, Mary's taken to staff psychiatrist Dr. Bensley, who pronounces her unstable. Now she must not only find her missing boyfriend, but prove her own sanity as well. When a stranger informs her he knows Kevin's whereabouts and demands a $10 billion ransom, she has one hour to comply... and her boyfriend's life hangs in the balance. Forced to embezzle the money from the bank where she works, Mary soon discovers the shocking truth behind the disappearance. Now time is running out and she must take matters into her own hands to save herself.

Brittany Murphy's Final Film "Abandoned" Gets Release Date

Brittany Murphy's final film has been granted a release date. "Abandoned," the psychological thriller she starred in with Dean Cain, will be hitting theaters in the summer.
The film was Murphy's final completed project before she unfortunately passed away in December.
Producers Jeffrey Schenck and Barry Barnholtz said in a joint statement, "Brittany will be deeply missed by everyone who worked on Abandoned. The film is a taut thriller which portrays Brittany's character is smart and tough - and that's how we all want to remember her." ... Read More ...

"Across The Hall" Hits Stores

Here's a review: At first glance, Across the Hall has the look of one of those "stylish thrillers" with little substance below its glossy veneer. But there's more to this story, which director Alex Merkin and screenwriter Jesse Mittelstadt expanded from its original incarnation as a 2005 short film. Danny Pino costars as Terry, an insecure, short-fused guy who's convinced that his girlfriend, June (Brittany Murphy), is cheating on him--so convinced, in fact, that he has followed her to a funky hotel (one of those spooky places with few other guests and an oddball porter oozing portentous nuttiness) and booked the room across the hall from hers, where he stares through the peephole, armed with a gun and very bad intent. Jesse calls his best bud Julian (Mike Vogel) and confesses what he's up to, which sets in motion a series of plot twists, some fairly predictable (viewers good at such things will certainly see them coming) and some not at all. The action jumps around in terms of both time frame and point of view, but Merkin, who was also the editor, makes it all work. And while the film has its share of timeworn tricks and devices (including cell phones ringing in all the wrong places and the old "did he take the elevator or the stairs?" bit), not to mention a couple of overly convenient plot developments, Merkin handily maintains a kind of noirish tension throughout its tidy, 90-minute running time. Everyone here at BrittanyMurphy.Org are very saddened to hear of the passing of Brittany earlier today. Brittany was a wonderful actress and a beautiful person and she will be greatly missed.
All our thoughts are with her family and friends during this time.

Brittany Murphy Dies

Actress Brittany Murphy has died.
It's been confirmed the actress, aged 32, who was the star of films like Just Married and 8 Mile, passed away at the Cedars-Sinai Medical Centre in Los Angeles.
Her publicist, Nicole Perna, released a statement reading: "In this time of sadness, the family thanks you for your love and support.
"It is their wish that you respect their privacy."
TMZ alleges Brittany went into cardiac arrest and that her mother reportedly discovered her in the shower, but this has not been confirmed.
Brittany was married to Simon Monjack, a British screenwriter and the couple lived in Los Angeles.
According to People, Brittany was "found unresponsive" on Sunday morning in her Hollywood home. She was then taken to the Cedars-Sinai Medical Centre and was pronounced dead just after 10am (US Time).
Actor Ashton Kutcher, whom she used to date, and starred alongside in the comedy Just Married, posted a message on Twitter which read: "2day the world lost a little piece of sunshine.
"My deepest condolences go out 2 Brittany's family, her husband, & her amazing mother Sharon."
The LA County Coroner's Office will be conducting an autopsy as soon as possible, reports People.
Captain John Kades of the Coroner's office told People: "Foul play is not suspected at this time because there were no outward signs of trauma or other injuries."

Upcoming Projects

Brittany is rumored to be attached to yet an other movie for this year, "Poor Things". The movie is inspired by real news events and crime scandals surrounding recent arrests and convictions of mischievous elderly women. The various "grandma gangs" exploits have included scams and cons involving drug sales, insurance fraud, and murder.
This year Brittany is leading her voice again, for "Futurama: The Beast with a Billion Backs" which will hit theaters on June. Brittany also has two other movies in pre-production, "Sin City 2" and "The White Hotel".
